Railway Museum in Curitiba

The Railway Museum at Shopping Estação is located in the Rebouças neighborhood and occupies the city’s former railway station. The space operates within the commercial complex, preserving the building’s connection to the history of the tracks and keeping the old station as the centerpiece of the visit. The collection brings together items related to rail activity, including locomotives, railcars, tools, equipment, and other historic pieces. The exhibition features reference to around 600 items in the display. The museum also recreates part of how the station worked, with installations designed to show how the system operated during the period when the building served rail transport. The exhibition includes content about the history of the Paranaguá–Curitiba railway, one of the best-known connections in the state. This focus helps place the role of the former station and the preserved material in context. There is also mention that the adjoining building houses the Teatro de Bonecos.
